marketing majors, please post your comments about this department policy.
it has been a long-standing policy of the Marketing department not to allow undergraduates to enroll in 4 major subjects in one term. however, unlike in the Accountancy department that gave handouts containing department policies to the students as freshmen and were thus properly informed, Marketing students only hear about the policy through informal channels such as from fellow majors or upperclassmen.
a reason that the Department has given for the policy is that students will not be able to take the heavy workload caused by taking four majors simultaneously, when in fact, an undergraduate has just recently taken four Marketing subjects and received grades of two 4.0s, a 3.5, and a 3.0.

I see nothing "wrong" with that policy if that has been enforced to every marketing student and that everyone was fully informed and since that is not the case, I would start making my comments. With the one reason you've stated, i think that the marketing dept. thinks low of the capabilities of Lasallian students taking marketing management. I believe that as adults, we are responsible enough to give our efforts for the subjects we take and pass them. I wonder where they got the idea that we can't take the load. Also, a lot of students have already taken more than 3 marketing majors (full load also) and passing them with good grades. Wonder why they have such a lousy reason. I hope we do get a forum so that things can be settled in a fair manner (assuming they would listen and THINK). Since we we were only informed on the 2nd day of this term (when they acted like hunters hunting for innocent animals and notifying us that we cant take more than 3 majors and that we cannot take markpro and markser together), i think it is also not equal to our rights that we are forced to drop some marketing major subjects for these reasons: 1) its too late, we have made our schedules so that we can graduate soon since most of us are shiftees and are delayed by a year or more. we're about to graduate and they would want us to stay longer just because they think we're not capable? 2) they said it on the 2nd day of this term..... hello??? 90% refund? is that even right??? Think mommy will be happy??? 3) what we are doing is not against the student handbook. 4) if you're a graduating student ( a year or less to graduate), you are allowed to take extra subjects. so they cant just say to us that we cant take more than 3. we wanna graduate and they? they want more food!!!!!!! so like chickens, they want to lock us longer so that we can give them more FOOD. yes and that makes them super happy! 5) if teachers are responsible (and exercise) of notifying classroom policies, why is the department not responsible enough to inform the students about their policies that does not go with the rules in the student handbook. and why are they not responsible of the unprofessional behavior of demanding and expecting food to be served to them? well in some way, they really are teaching us whats there in the real world.... bribery. and that is one thing and the main thing we learned whenever we have to present something in class (which happens in many subjects). I would point out that not everyone in the marketing practices such habits and we're rather blessed to have them. I hope the department could set up a forum to discuss this further........unless they want to use cheap ways like evading or ignoring us students......simply because they fear that the position they stand on is nothing but crap. *** THis is anonymous and there is no need to register. post up people! speak or be sorry.

by instantly telling us that we cannot take more than 3 major subjects would be like hindering us from learning therefore they do not comply with what an educational institution promotes
