i think it's ok for the library policy because if we borrowed it then how about the others who need the same book...

I don't see it as a problem, like what Masonhao said, what about the other people who'd wish to borrow it?
Take a look at the BIGGER PICTURE.

I don't see the problem with this policy as well. Of course if it's a research resource, many people will be borrowing it (like what masonhao and Huh have mentioned.
If the long line's are the problem,go there and have it photocopied early. There are also lots of photocopying stations inside the library.
I think the way for this to be more effective would be a move on the student's part. They should get the necessary materials/research/info they need before finals/pre-finals week. Usually naman, final paper topics are given weeks before the deadline e.I think that's ample time.
My two cents.

i also agree with carlo... if u are suggesting that students can borrow the book during the finals then u should think how many students will borrow them.. how about the others who also need to borrow the same book but there are no more copies left...? are you suggesting to buy more books?

With the arguments presented, i saw things na we can address din, maybe some prof give research works 1 week before the finals, so technically the time is not ample for some to conduct an extensive research! hmmmm, on the suggestion to buy more books? hmmmm, maybe not, what i see is increasing the number of free online databases hmmm, post pa kayo guys, u might have diff. arguments let your concerns be heard!

a free online database would be nice.
i know it will be hard but, making the library accessible virtually is a nice touch in our school since we're always in touch with technology

We actually do have free online database and other research materials at our disposal in the library. 2nd floor
Btw, I've never encountered a Prof that gives heavy research work only a week before finals

We actually do have free online database and other research materials at our disposal in the library. 2nd floor Btw, I've never encountered a Prof that gives heavy research work only a week before finals those online databases aren't sufficient enough, what i meant to say is every book to have virtual copies. I know it's nearly impossible, but then again, i saw my math book in some site hosted in PDF file. How hard could it be?! If we take the action now, the future of La Salle as being innovative will skyrocket and students would have no excuse to have not read the required readings because he wasn't able to photocopy it. @ carlo. What if you encounter one? What would you do? What if there's no materials at your disposal and tom's the finals and the campus is nearly closed? (extreme situations but still possible) GUYS, there's an issue because people tend to complain. Not everyone secures the said materials needed for the finals or even just for a specific activity. It would be too much hassle, especially people tend to do things when they're only near the deadline. Everyone just wants a sense of security for their academic life. We should think of a solution for this. Does anyone have ideas they can contribute?! THIS IS THE BIGGER PICTURE let's not look at ourselves but others and the what IFs they might encounter. Let's not take a chance =D

Probably, what could be done is to increase the photocopying services in the library. There are times wherein only one photocopying machine is functional in the library. And it somehow causes the long lines.
